Staff Nurse – Vaccination Team

About the role

We are seeking a registered Staff Nurse to join the NHS Borders vaccination team. The role involves delivering a comprehensive vaccination service to children and adults across the Scottish Borders.

Key responsibilities

• Administer a wide range of vaccines, including childhood immunisations, school programmes, pneumococcal, shingles, RSV, COVID‑19 and seasonal flu.
• Provide vaccination services in health centres, community clinics, schools, care homes and patients’ homes.
• Support the Vaccination Transformation Programme by ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred delivery.
• Observe and mentor during baby and preschool vaccination sessions as part of recruitment.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to clinical governance and safety standards.

Required profile

• First‑level registered nurse (NMC registration).
• Experience of vaccination delivery is preferred.
• Background in community or multidisciplinary settings.
• Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and compassionate leadership.
