Commercial Finance Manager – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to lead the finance function across multiple companies within the Group. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will combine traditional finance management with commercial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, annual budgets, rolling forecasts and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Manage daily cash flow, working capital, VAT returns and statutory compliance.
• Analyse customer, contract and project profitability, identify revenue leakage and recommend pricing improvements.
• Produce financial models for investment opportunities and support strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee credit control, working‑capital optimisation and improve debtor days.
• Handle construction and project finance tasks including CIS compliance, valuations and contract profitability reporting.
• Develop KPI dashboards, budget vs forecast reports and enhance Sage reporting.
• Identify and implement process efficiencies and support new finance system roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance management within a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent knowledge of UK statutory reporting, VAT and payroll.
• Experience working with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
