Construction Manager – EPCM Project (2-Year Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead early works on a major EPCM project in Padeswood, Flintshire. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of construction activities while meeting schedule, quality and HSSE targets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement company HSE policies and Construction HSE Management Plans, ensuring contractor compliance.
• Deliver construction activities safely, on schedule and according to execution plans.
• Manage mobilisation and demobilisation of resources to meet programme requirements.
• Ensure personnel competency, training and certification compliance.
• Conduct construction audits, reviews and enforce corrective actions.
• Oversee Management of Change (MOC) processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and monitor contractor Quality Assurance and Inspection Plans.
• Maintain inspection, monitoring and hold points across construction activities.
• Inspect works for compliance with drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Identify deficiencies, raise and close non‑conformance reports.
• Support construction planning and verify contractor progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation, permits to work, CDM Regulations, COSHH and method statements.
• Promote an “Incident Free” culture and the Construction Safety Plan.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline or relevant trade apprenticeship.
• ECITB Temporary Works qualification (or equivalent).
• CSCS Gold Card (or higher) and current SMSTS certification.
• At least 15 years’ management experience in the engineering construction industry.
• Strong understanding of EPCM project delivery, construction management systems and procedures.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership abilities.
• Proven experience on complex industrial or on‑shore projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction safety legislation and environmental responsibilities.
