Demand Planner – Production & Forecasting (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Demand Planner to take ownership of production planning, demand forecasting and inventory control within a growing manufacturing business. The role will bring structure, visibility and control to a planning function that is currently managed through spreadsheets and informal processes. You will work closely with Sales, Production, Purchasing and senior leadership to ensure smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using sales history, customer requirements and business trends.
• Create and maintain production schedules to ensure on‑time delivery of customer orders.
• Monitor stock levels, manage material availability and mitigate potential shortages.
• Analyse production capacity, identify bottlenecks and work with operational teams to maximise efficiency.
• Act as the central coordination point between Sales, Production, Purchasing and senior leadership, facilitating regular planning meetings.
• Design and implement robust planning processes, reporting and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Production Planning, Demand Planning or Supply Chain Planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of forecasting, capacity planning and inventory management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and decision making.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and exposure to S&OP processes.
