Derivatives and Structured Products Associate

About the role

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is recruiting an associate for its busy derivatives and structured products practice within the debt capital markets department in London. The work advises clients on structured products, securitised and OTC derivatives, hedging, repos and securities lending, repackagings and related regulatory advice. The position reports to the Group Manager, works 35 hours per week (9:30am to 5:30pm, with additional hours possible) and offers up to 40% remote working.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on the establishment and updating of on and off balance sheet structured products programmes
• Advise on securitised and OTC derivatives, hedging arrangements, structured repos and securities lending, repackagings and regulatory advice
• Develop knowledge of the legal principles behind the work and attend specialist training
• Manage projects to high quality standards, meeting deadlines and responding promptly to requests
• Build and maintain client relationships, including developing new ones
• Work cost-effectively, keeping track of time and budgets

Required profile

• Experience in a top-tier firm is required
• One to three years post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
• Strong academic background
• Excellent written communication and drafting skills
• Outstanding technical skills and ability to work in a team

• Good working knowledge of the legal principles underlying structured products, derivatives and securitisation
