Director, People Business Partner – Commercial & New Payment Flows

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior HR leader to shape and execute the people strategy for its Commercial & New Payment Flows (CNPF) organization. Reporting to the SVP, People & Capability, you will partner with business leaders across Mastercard Payment Services, Commercial Solutions Engineering, and Applied AI, Data & UK Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a people strategy that aligns with CNPF business priorities and growth plans.
• Act as a member of the leadership team, influencing decisions and driving change management initiatives.
• Provide executive coaching, employee‑relations guidance, workforce planning and rewards advice to managers and staff.
• Oversee the delivery of core People & Capability programs within the portfolio.
• Collaborate with fellow Business Partners to ensure seamless program delivery across the organization.
• Offer market insight on talent trends and advise on workforce implications.
• Work with Centres of Excellence to tailor and improve HR programs.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on labour market and regulatory matters.
• Partner with Finance to manage budgeting and forecasting for employee‑related expenses.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR strategy at a senior level, preferably within a large, regulated financial services environment.
• Strong track record in change management, executive coaching, and employee relations.
• Deep understanding of labour market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and talent‑planning best practices.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and work collaboratively across functions.
• Experience managing budgets and forecasting HR‑related costs.
