Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy (Hybrid, Doncaster)

About the role

Join a fast‑growing renewable energy developer as an Electrical Engineer, based in Doncaster with a hybrid working model. You will be involved from concept through to delivery, helping to accelerate the UK’s net‑zero transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical input on early‑stage projects, including feasibility studies, capacity optimisation and layout design.
• Drive grid connection applications and negotiate with DNOs and National Grid.
• Review and challenge connection offers, technical specifications and compliance with G99/G100 and the Grid Code.
• Develop high‑level designs such as single‑line diagrams, protection schemes and earthing systems.
• Identify risks, constraints and opportunities that affect project value.
• Manage consultants, OEMs and EPCs to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Support due‑diligence, tender preparation and supplier selection.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in UK renewables, power or energy infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems and grid‑connection processes.
• Confidence reviewing technical designs and influencing key decisions.
• Commercial awareness and solid engineering judgement.

Required skills

• LV, MV, HV system knowledge.
• Grid‑connection expertise.
• Understanding of G99, G100 and Grid Code requirements.
• Creation of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection and earthing designs.
