Field IT Service Engineer (EPOS Installations)

About the role

A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to cover the South East of England, based in Kent. You will provide EPOS installation and specialist support, working alone or in a small team with good attention to detail. The company van and equipment are supplied.

Key responsibilities

• Install new EPOS hardware, including data cabling where appropriate
• Install and deploy systems using correct, documented procedures
• Advise on EPOS operational standards by telephone, modem, best practice and/or training
• Stay available at all times within the defined territory and hold adequate spares
• Follow the build and repair process and keep the repair centre and vehicles clean and tidy
• Ensure repaired systems are asset tracked and assigned to the right customer
• Support non-EPOS PC-based ordering systems and the Helpdesk team as required
• Handle general administration and report potential future issues with IT systems

Required profile

• IT fault-finding experience or skills (essential)
• Motivated, friendly, hands-on and able to work independently or in a small team
• Basic numeracy and literacy
• An electrical qualification is preferred but not essential

Required skills

• Knowledge of structured data cabling (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills and relationship building
