Financial Controller

About the role

Lenkie is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Financial Controller to join its growing finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified chartered accountant with operational finance experience to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and day‑to‑day finance operations in a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Assist in building financial models, budgets and forecasts for business planning.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide clear financial information to non‑finance stakeholders across the business.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience in an operational finance role, preferably in a high‑growth startup or fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical ability with high attention to detail.
• Proactive, ownership‑driven mindset and comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.
