About the role

Join a Good‑rated secondary school in Colchester as a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant. You will support students aged 11‑16 in KS3‑KS4 mathematics, gaining valuable classroom experience before embarking on teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging maths lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to raise attainment.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with the maths department and wider school team.
• Contribute to intervention programmes and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Genuine interest in a teaching career.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organisational ability and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
