Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

Join a high‑performing secondary school in Hounslow as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work alongside experienced SEN staff to provide tailored support for students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement individualised learning plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one assistance during lessons, homework sessions and, where required, personal care tasks.
• Adapt and modify learning resources to suit diverse learning requirements.
• Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued.
• Monitor progress and relay feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
• Support behaviour‑management strategies and interventions.
• Participate in training and professional‑development activities related to SEN education.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related STEM/humanities discipline.
• Genuine passion for working with children, especially those with SEN.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Patience, empathy and resilience when facing challenges.
