Graduate Teaching Assistant – Newham, East London

About the role
Prospero Teaching is partnering with a secondary school in Newham to offer recent graduates a hands‑on teaching experience. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will work full‑time during term dates, supporting teachers across Key Stages 3‑5 and gaining valuable classroom exposure before entering teacher training.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group intervention to support student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff across departments to promote progress.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Degree qualified.
- Good GCSE results.
- Passion for education and supporting young people.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Two professional references.
Required skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
