Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead our finance function across reporting, governance, compliance and operations within a listed business. The role sits at the heart of the finance team, interacting with senior leadership, the Audit Committee and the Board, and offers the chance to shape finance as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead external reporting processes, including half‑year and full‑year IFRS reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and support the Group audit process.
• Develop and maintain technical accounting policies and governance.
• Prepare papers and reports for the Audit Committee and Board.
• Direct the global tax strategy, governance and compliance, including corporation tax, VAT/GST and employment taxes.
• Support tax optimisation initiatives and oversee tax provisioning and disclosures.
• Lead sustainability and ESG reporting, including emerging IFRS sustainability requirements.
• Oversee controls, compliance, governance and enterprise risk management frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading external and statutory reporting under IFRS.
• Strong background in multi‑jurisdictional tax strategy and compliance.
• Experience preparing high‑quality reports for audit committees and boards.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical accounting governance and policy development.
• Experience in sustainability/ESG reporting and related regulatory requirements.
