Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Group Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed business with international operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the financial control agenda across a multi‑entity, cross‑border structure.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver the group budgeting process, ensuring robust financial planning.
• Manage year‑end audit and statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Oversee accurate, timely month‑end close and balance‑sheet management across the group.
• Lead group consolidation, handling currency impacts and cross‑border transactions.
• Coordinate R&D tax credit claims with external advisors.
• Support financing or refinancing activities as required.
• Contribute to finance function development, including potential implementation of a consolidation system.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with experience in a Big Four or reputable practice.
• Solid technical accounting background, including group consolidation, UK GAAP statutory accounts and multi‑currency reporting.
• Experience in a UK‑based manufacturing, industrial or similarly complex business with cross‑border operations.
• Hands‑on approach, comfortable rolling up sleeves and owning end‑to‑end processes.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative and adaptable working style.
