HR Business Partner (Employee Relations & Trade Unions)

About the role

The Bukola Group is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead employee relations and trade union engagement across multiple sites in Greater London. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, delivering pragmatic people solutions while maintaining strong union relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to provide commercially focused HR advice.
• Lead and advise on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and organisational change matters.
• Build effective relationships with trade union representatives and support consultation processes.
• Provide guidance on UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Coach and develop managers to improve people‑management capability.
• Analyse people data to identify trends, risks and recommend interventions.
• Support organisational change initiatives and workforce planning.
• Contribute to wider HR projects and strategic people initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Manager.
• Extensive expertise in employee relations, handling complex and high‑risk cases.
• Strong background working with recognised trade unions and employee representatives.
• Experience in consultation, negotiation and organisational change processes.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
• Confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship‑building skills.
• CIPD qualification.
