Joiner (Multi‑Trade) – Reactive Maintenance in Social Housing

About the role

A West Midlands housing association is looking for an experienced Joiner (Multi‑Trade) to deliver reactive maintenance in occupied social housing properties. The position is a short‑term contract covering sickness absence, with the possibility of extension and a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out responsive carpentry repairs in occupied homes.
• Perform basic multi‑trade tasks such as patch plastering, minor plumbing, tiling and making good.
• Work independently across the local housing stock, ensuring timely completion of repairs.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery.
• Previous experience in reactive maintenance within social housing.
• Own van and tools preferred (van provision may be offered later).
• Strong carpentry skills with the ability to handle multiple trades.

What we offer

• Pay up to £27.00 per hour (rate varies with experience).
• 37‑hour week, Monday to Friday.
