Machine Operator – Shot Blast (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join a modern manufacturing environment in Peterlee, operating shot‑blast machinery for Caterpillar articulated trucks. This fixed‑term position runs until 01/11/2027 and offers competitive pay, overtime, and the chance to develop specialised skills.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, operate and monitor shot‑blasting equipment according to standard procedures.
• Maintain product quality by ensuring consistent surface preparation.
• Follow health‑and‑safety guidelines, including the use of mandatory PPE.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on machinery.
• Record production data and report any issues to supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to follow documented work procedures.
• Physical capability for manual lifting where required.
• Commitment to safety at all times.
• Previous experience with shot‑blasting machinery and an NVQ qualification.
