Marine Design Engineer – Naval Ships (Glasgow/Derby)

About the role

Join Belcan Engineering as a Marine Design Engineer and work on complex, high‑impact naval ship projects. You will contribute to the design and delivery of advanced naval vessels within a collaborative, forward‑thinking engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation.
• Support engineering design activities across outfit, structural and electrical systems.
• Utilise industry‑standard tools, especially FORAN, to develop and refine design solutions.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with Belcan’s QMS.
• Contribute to integrated solutions across outfit, structural and electrical engineering areas.

Required profile

• Mid‑ to senior‑level engineers with experience in naval or marine environments, ideally on complex platforms.
• Strong CAD capability with proven experience using FORAN.
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools such as FEA and tolerance analysis.
• Junior candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a complex marine engineering setting.
