Production Controller

About the role

Lotus Cars is seeking a Production Controller to join its Supply Chain team at the iconic Hethel manufacturing site. The role sits at the heart of the plant, ensuring vehicle and service orders move efficiently through production and that key documentation remains accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Track Lotus, third‑party and service orders through the plant, identifying delays and working with Production teams to resolve issues.
• Expedite orders where required to support production and customer deadlines.
• Manage the approval and communication of engineering containment activities and special builds.
• Process approved Deviation Request Forms (DRFs) and issue these to the relevant Shop Floor teams.
• Track and report on open DRFs, supporting timely review and closure of outstanding actions.
• Support the processing and management of orders through core business information systems.
• Ensure Manufacturing Execution System (MES) jobs and data are aligned with the Production Plan.
• Generate and issue Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) for manufactured products.
• Identify production delays and escalate or coordinate actions where necessary to help meet customer requirements.

Required profile

• Organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Basic engineering and/or automotive knowledge and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Self‑motivated with good problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple departments.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (intermediate level).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
