Programme Integration Lead

About the role

The Programme Integration Lead will own the integration gaps across a complex multi‑supplier transformation programme for central government. You will ensure that workstreams, dependencies and decisions are aligned into a single, coherent delivery plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a single integrated plan recognised by all workstreams and suppliers.
• Identify and surface dependencies early, assigning owners and dates.
• Align commercial, service design, operational and transition activities to avoid hidden conflicts.
• Broker resolutions when workstreams disagree on sequencing or priority, escalating only when senior decisions are required.
• Provide senior leaders with a clear programme‑wide status, highlighting what is on track, at risk, and needs decisions.
• Protect the critical path and communicate its status to all stakeholders.
• Re‑plan when funding, policy or supplier circumstances change.
• Establish integration rhythms and artefacts that the client can sustain after the engagement ends.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning delivery on complex programmes, not just reporting.
• Track record of integrating and leading workstreams with multiple suppliers and internal partners.
• Ability to scope a plan from ambiguous starting points and analytically interrogate existing plans.
• Credibility to challenge senior workstream leads and keep the plan realistic under pressure.
• Background in public‑sector transformation or outsourcing; supplier‑side experience is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with assurance frameworks such as GMPP, NISTA, MSP, PRINCE2 or APM is useful but not essential.
