Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead the procurement function for a growing business in Hove. This permanent position offers the chance to shape supplier relationships, drive cost efficiencies and support the company’s operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement process to ensure timely, cost‑effective purchasing of goods.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with internal teams to meet operational demand.
• Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Collaborate with finance to manage budgets, forecasts and contract negotiations.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing performance and supplier evaluations.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Experience in the retail sector or a similar industry.
• Strong analytical abilities for data and market trend analysis.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles is a plus.
