SEMH Teacher – Specialist School (Colchester)

About the role
We are looking for a motivated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join a specialist school in Colchester. The school supports mixed‑sex pupils aged 4‑19 with a range of additional needs, preparing them for reintegration into mainstream education.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver curriculum subjects to small groups, adapting lessons to individual needs.
- Collaborate with residential and therapeutic practitioners to promote student well‑being.
- Maintain high expectations and monitor progress against national benchmarks.
- Provide personalised support to disengaged pupils, encouraging resilience and holistic growth.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, or a relevant degree.
- Enthusiastic, resilient and able to work in a small‑class environment.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred).
- Willingness to work with students who have additional needs.
