SEND Teacher – Primary or SEND role in Colchester

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEND or Primary teacher to join a specialist school in Colchester. The role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and complex needs, offering a rewarding environment where you can make a real difference.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons for students with autism, severe, profound and complex needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with individual pupils to support their learning and wellbeing.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including therapists and support staff.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as required.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive classroom practices and school-wide SEND initiatives.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) – preferred.
- Experience or a genuine interest in working with SEND pupils.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with families.
- Commitment to safeguarding and completing required DBS checks.
