Senior Civil Engineering Technician

About the role

The Senior Civil Engineering Technician will lead and mentor a team of CAD and junior technicians, delivering high‑quality, sustainable digital solutions for civil engineering projects across the UK practice. The role ensures technical excellence, compliance with quality standards, and supports the growth of the team.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and guide technicians to deliver sustainable CAD and digital solutions.
• Coordinate project resource planning and liaise with senior engineering staff.
• Support professional development, conduct interviews, and assist in recruitment.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and CDM Regulations 2015.
• Conduct technical reviews, maintain QA standards, and oversee health and safety implementation.
• Lead drawing and model production using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including 2D/3D modelling and clash detection.
• Develop masterplans and detailed designs for regeneration, aviation, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
• Integrate BIM protocols (BS EN ISO 19650) and manage digital workflows.
• Maintain document control procedures and issue project drawing transmittals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading CAD or technical teams in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 quality processes and CDM Regulations.
• Ability to coordinate resources and support recruitment activities.
