Site Manager – Envelope Package (Cladding & Roofing)

About the role

Balfour Beatty is delivering a world‑first gas‑fired power station with carbon capture at Teesside. The company is looking for a dynamic Site Manager to lead the envelope package – cladding, roofing, doors, roller shutters and roof lights – on the Net Zero Teesside project based in Redcar and Cleveland.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Construction Manager in coordinating logistics, deliveries and traffic movements for the envelope package.
• Attend daily SIC/DABS meetings and subcontractor briefings to ensure alignment with adjacent works.
• Conduct daily dynamic risk assessments and manage SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) on site.
• Produce daily progress reports, monitor subcontractor reporting and mitigate commercial risk.
• Support RAMS appraisal, implementation and plant permit checks before work starts.
• Maintain quality documentation using the client’s EasyPlant system and oversee handovers.
• Track snags/defects, allocate them to the correct subcontractors and ensure timely closure.
• Perform regular H&S inspections and quality checks to achieve a Right‑First‑Time approach.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing subcontracted envelope packages (cladding, roofing, doors, shutters).
• Strong understanding of construction logistics, risk assessment and SIMOPS coordination.
• Ability to work on‑site for the majority of the time (approximately 80% site, 20% office).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
