Site Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead construction projects in Newcastle upon Tyne. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will oversee all on‑site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction works, maintaining quality standards and deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams and suppliers to align project objectives.
• Monitor costs, margins and resources in partnership with quantity surveyors.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Prepare and manage site reports, drawings, look‑ahead programmes and schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring programme alignment.
• Record and communicate site instructions, updates and issues promptly.
• Conduct safety inspections and enforce HSE regulations.
• Maintain quality control according to QEMS procedures and resolve issues proactively.
• Assist with contract negotiations, permits, and snagging/defect close‑out using Audit Brick.

Required profile

• Maintain strict confidentiality of company and client information.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Work independently with strong initiative, organization and prioritisation.
• Perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Audit Brick software for snagging and defect management.
• Understanding of QEMS quality procedures.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations.

What we offer

• Salary £43,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
• Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 schedule with earlier finish on Fridays.
