Aircraft Technician – London Heathrow

About the role

Join Emirates Engineering at London Heathrow as an Aircraft Technician, supporting the safety, reliability and performance of a world‑class fleet that includes the A380 and Boeing 777. You will work within a professional maintenance team under the guidance of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE).

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and approved structural repairs on aircraft, engines and components.
• Perform component replacements and other maintenance activities as directed.
• Use and interpret approved documentation such as the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) and Component Maintenance Manual (CMM).
• Assist LAEs with walk‑around checks, troubleshooting, defect rectification and modification work.
• Follow all safety procedures for refuelling, fluid replenishment and system servicing.
• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and maintaining clean, FOD‑free work areas.
• Maintain housekeeping standards on ramps, stands, vehicles and toolboxes.
• Comply with airport safety regulations, hold a valid airside driving permit and adhere to manoeuvring requirements.
• Ensure prompt task attendance to maximise aircraft ground time and minimise delays.
• Communicate defects and technical findings clearly to the LAE and support shift handovers.
• Assist with material and stores audits to maintain engineering quality compliance.

Required profile

• Recognised aircraft maintenance qualification or apprenticeship.
• Relevant experience in aircraft maintenance and repair; A380 experience is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Familiarity with aviation safety standards, documentation and quality systems.
• Commitment to the highest standards of safety, precision and professionalism.
