Apprentice 18t Driver

About the role

We are looking for a motivated individual to join DX Network Services as an Urban Driver Apprentice. Over a 15‑month programme you will gain professional driving experience, work towards a Category C2 (18 t) licence and develop a solid understanding of our logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Represent DX professionally while delivering parcels to business and residential customers.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, report defects and complete required paperwork.
• Load and unload deliveries safely, scan items using DX scanning equipment and ensure accurate documentation.
• Follow routing plans to achieve premium and timed deliveries.
• Use personal protective equipment and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Assist with office duties, driver‑mate tasks and warehousing during training periods.
• Report any on‑road or delivery issues to the traffic office promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• At least 12 months of UK driving experience.
• Valid UK driving licence (Category B) and willingness to obtain Category C2 licence.
• Ability to work full‑time on a rotating shift pattern.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Category C2 (18 t) licence (to be obtained during the apprenticeship).
• CPC licence (required for LGV vehicles).
• Operation of vehicle scanning equipment.
