Architectural Technician / Architect – £38k-£50k (DOE)

About the role

This full‑time position is for an Architectural Technician or qualified Architect to join a growing, collaborative practice in Taunton. You will work across a varied portfolio of education, healthcare and community projects, delivering thoughtful, technically robust and sustainable design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and technical delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
• Produce planning, Building Regulations and technical drawing packages.
• Coordinate projects across all RIBA stages in partnership with senior team members.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors throughout delivery.
• Attend project and site meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare design reports, presentations and project documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Architect (ARB/RIBA) or Architectural Technician/Technologist.
• Experience working within a UK architectural practice.
• Good understanding of UK Planning, Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Passion for high‑quality architecture with attention to detail.

Required skills

• ArchiCAD (training can be provided).
