Assistant Maintenance Engineer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Maintenance Engineer to join a market‑leading manufacturing business at a highly automated production facility in Worksop. The role is ideal for an engineer ready to progress, offering comprehensive training and a clear pathway to become a fully qualified Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on automated production equipment.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly.
• Perform fault finding and diagnostics to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical engineering bias.
• Minimum NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 Engineering qualification.
• Engineering experience in UK manufacturing, industrial, production or Armed Forces environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: previous maintenance experience in an automated factory setting.
