Audit & Accounts Senior

About the role

We are recruiting for a well‑established accountancy practice in Chelmsford. The Audit & Accounts Senior will lead audit engagements, prepare financial statements and support the growth of the practice. This role offers a supportive environment for a qualified professional seeking to progress.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning through to completion, liaising with clients and managing audit teams.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Review and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and training.
• Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, ensuring service quality.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Contribute to business development and networking activities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years’ experience in audit and accountancy within a practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
