About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral and inclusion team of an ambitious secondary school in West London. The role focuses on supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, autism, challenging behaviour and low attendance, helping them build resilience and achieve academic success.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one mentoring and small‑group sessions targeting behavioural and emotional development.
- Build trusting relationships with students to boost confidence, self‑esteem and engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEND staff, safeguarding officers and external agencies to design and implement support plans.
- Monitor and record attendance, behaviour and wellbeing data, contributing to risk assessments and intervention programmes.
- Provide support during lessons and unstructured times, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people in a school, youth‑work, care or community setting.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour with calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
