Certified Quality Manager

About the role

The Certified Quality Manager will lead the quality function for a well‑established manufacturing organisation in Wigan. Reporting to senior leadership, you will own the quality systems, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Work cross‑functionally to investigate and resolve quality issues.
• Monitor quality metrics, analyse performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead, develop and support the quality team.
• Manage customer concerns and drive effective resolution of quality‑related issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on quality activities.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions to minimise defects.
• Collaborate with suppliers to uphold high standards for raw materials.
• Oversee product testing, validation and inspection processes.
• Produce and present quality reports to senior leadership.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Professional certification such as CQI.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality assurance or control within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven leadership experience managing a quality team.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and quality‑system software.
