CNC Operator – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Bristol. You will operate modern CNC milling and turning equipment to produce high‑quality components for demanding sectors, working in a safety‑focused, continuous‑improvement environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, run and monitor CNC milling and/or turning machines according to production orders.
• Load and unload workpieces safely, change tools and offsets as required.
• Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, verniers, plug gauges and other precision measuring tools.
• Ensure parts are produced to engineering drawings and specifications, recording production data accurately.
• Identify and report quality or machining issues, supporting on‑time delivery targets.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area following 5S principles.
• Collaborate with setters, programmers and production leaders to meet quality and output goals.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication, teamwork and reliability.

Required skills

• CNC milling and turning operation.
• Fanuc and/or Heidenhain control systems.
• Use of micrometers, vernier calipers, plug gauges and basic inspection equipment.
• Reading engineering drawings.
• 5S workplace organisation.
