Controls Engineer – PLC Programming, Design & Commissioning

About the role

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Bristol. You will be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning PLC‑based control systems for bespoke special‑purpose machinery, while receiving full training and development support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, program and commission PLC‑based control systems and panels.
• Test and validate electrical control equipment to meet company, customer and industry standards.
• Provide technical support to the design and engineering team.
• Maintain and improve control software, driving continuous reliability enhancements.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Required profile

• Experience in designing and programming control systems.
• Ability to travel to customer sites.
• Resides within commuting distance of Bristol.

Required skills

• PLC programming.
• Electrical control system and panel design.
• HMI and SCADA interfaces.
• CAD for schematics.
• Understanding of industry standards for control software.
