Design Engineer – Vehicle Conversions

About the role

Allied Vehicles is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Engineering department. You will work within a collaborative team to develop and enhance the company’s range of minibuses, taxis and wheelchair‑accessible vehicle conversions.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop innovative solutions for new and existing vehicle products.
• Design complete vehicle conversions, from accessories to full‑vehicle concepts.
• Create Bills of Materials, prototype components and maintain up‑to‑date project documentation.
• Manage projects to meet specifications, cost targets and timelines.
• Provide technical support for production and after‑sales activities.
• Incorporate lean manufacturing techniques and design for manufacturing for both UK and international markets.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for vehicle engineering.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

What we offer

• Flexible working hours (Monday‑Thursday, 7 am‑6 pm) – 37.5 hours per week.
