Despatch Manager – Aerospace Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Despatch Manager to lead the dispatch operations of a busy aerospace engineering facility in Verwood. This full‑time, hands‑on leadership position will own the department, ensuring customer orders are delivered accurately, on time, and to strict aerospace standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of the Despatch Department.
• Prioritise workload to meet all customer delivery deadlines.
• Supervise, support and develop a small dispatch team.
• Maintain clear expectations and accountability within the team.
• Identify training needs and support skill development.
• Oversee accurate preparation, invoicing and dispatch of customer orders.
• Coordinate subcontract treatment processes and monitor production flow.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, treatment records and monthly reporting.
• Manage stock allocation, housekeeping and FOD prevention.
• Communicate proactively with internal departments to avoid delays.

Required profile

• Background in engineering, manufacturing or logistics/dispatch.
• Experience coordinating subcontract processes or production flow.
• Proven leadership in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining performance.
• Strong communication across teams and levels.

What we offer

• Salary up to £40,000 DOE.
• Full‑time hours: Mon‑Thu 7:30 am‑4:30 pm, Fri 7:30 am‑12:30 pm.
