Director, Financial Controller – Value‑Added Services & Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director, Financial Controller for its Value‑Added Services & Solutions (VASS) business across multiple regions. The role provides senior‑level accounting leadership, ensuring consistent policy application, robust controls, and alignment with corporate controllership while supporting rapid market initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the senior controllership partner to regional VASS leaders, FP&A, and product teams.
• Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, bundle and fund structures, and gross‑vs‑net assessments.
• Engage early in new VASS product development, pricing bulletins, and scaling initiatives.
• Design, implement, and monitor front‑ and back‑end controls for VASS activities.
• Ensure compliance with Mastercard accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal governance standards.
• Identify and remediate risks related to fragmented execution and rapid business expansion.
• Serve as the primary regional owner for VASS controllership inquiries and resolve issues locally.
• Support regional delivery of funds, bundles, impairment reviews, and VASS‑specific assessments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial controllership and accounting leadership, preferably in a global technology or payments environment.
• Deep knowledge of revenue recognition, SOX compliance, and internal governance frameworks.
• Proven ability to design scalable accounting processes and controls.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and audit integrity.
• Excellent collaboration skills to partner with corporate controllership and regional business teams.
