Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The successful candidate will join a leading North East manufacturing site as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. Working on a three‑shift rota, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance of production machinery, as well as supporting new equipment installations and refurbishments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive and scheduled maintenance on a variety of production machinery.
• Install, commission and refurbish new and existing equipment.
• Undertake programming tasks related to machine control.
• Prepare technical reports analysing breakdown causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement practical solutions.
• Work across three shifts to ensure continuous plant availability.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrician or equivalent with an electrical focus.
• Willingness to work a three‑shift pattern.
• Experience in fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments is advantageous.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
