Electrical Pre-Contracts Estimator – Canterbury

About the role

Join a leading engineering firm as an Electrical Pre-Contracts Estimator, based near Canterbury. You will work on tender packages, produce accurate cost estimates and support the bid team to secure new projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documentation and raise any required RFIs.
• Prepare enquiries for equipment and specialist subcontract packages.
• Produce estimates using computer‑aided systems, including Ensign software.
• Quantify materials, plant, and labour accurately.
• Attend pre‑, mid‑ and post‑tender meetings and contribute to bid discussions.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for compliance and value.
• Compile tender review packs for senior management.
• Follow up tenders, assist with project securing and attend handover meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the building services sector.
• Strong tendering and estimating background.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Effective time‑management and prioritisation skills.
