Electrical Technician – Days Shift

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a global leading manufacturer at their Hartlepool site on a permanent, days‑shift (flexitime) basis. The role involves maintaining a wide range of electrical plant, ensuring reliable operation of power generation and distribution equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, diagnose faults and disassemble electrical plant and components.
• Interpret maintenance specifications, engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Update “as‑built” drawings and ensure documentation is accurate.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental and sustainability regulations.
• Identify defects and testing anomalies and take appropriate corrective action.

Required profile

• Competence in working with LV power generation and distribution systems.
• Understanding of legislative, regulatory and local safety requirements.
• Ability to prepare work areas, handle tools and equipment responsibly.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and equipment manuals.

• LV (single‑phase/three‑phase) power systems
• Earthing systems
• Switch panels and circuit protection devices (fuses, MCBs, relays, RCDs, thermal overloads)
• Transformers, motors and generators
• Lighting systems
• Electrical testing and fault diagnosis
• Reading engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
