Electro-Mechanical Engineer (Apprentice Qualified)

About the role

Saputo Nuneaton, a centre of excellence with 450 employees, processes and packages cheeses such as Cathedral City, Davidstow and Wensleydale. It is recruiting an apprentice-qualified electro-mechanical engineer for a full-time, permanent position. The plant is undergoing significant investment and building new lines, so there are many opportunities in the Engineering team. Engineers work hands-on on reactive requirements across two packaging production areas, covering both mechanical and electrical work.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain multiple lines of automated systems, slicers, scales, bagging, sealers and packaging equipment
• Optimise line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in equipment reliability and efficiency
• Capture and record plant performance information
• Complete maintenance activities to support a predictive approach and prevent equipment failures

Required profile

• HNC or HND background
• Hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery in a production or manufacturing environment
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques
• Experience working within a TPM environment
• Nice to have: fault-finding with PLCs

Required skills

• Working with block cutters, slicers, graters, weight checkers, formers, belt conveyors, elevators, rollers, case packers, robotic arms (KUKA) and automatic pallet wrappers
• CMMS use and interpretation of data to improve plant efficiency and identify top losses
