Equipment Operator – Heavy Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to work on civil construction sites nationwide. You will operate a variety of heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade materials while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and backhoes safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily pre‑inspections and ongoing maintenance checks on equipment.
• Excavate, move, and grade earth or aggregate to meet project specifications.
• Communicate with foremen, spotters, and other crew members via radio or hand signals.
• Assist with material loading/unloading, flagman duties, and general site cleanup.
• Report safety incidents and contribute to Job Safety Analysis updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience in civil construction.
• Proficiency with loaders, rubber‑tired backhoes, excavators, and dozers.
• Knowledge of OSHA excavation regulations and HAZWOPER safety standards.
• High School Diploma or GED; 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Willingness to perform general labor tasks as needed.
