Geotechnical Engineer – Sustainable Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Basingstoke. You will work on complex rail and infrastructure projects that support the UK’s transition to a greener, more sustainable transport network.

Key responsibilities

• Design and assess geotechnical solutions for rail and infrastructure schemes.
• Perform numerical modelling and analysis using PLAXIS 2D.
• Interpret ground investigation data and produce detailed geotechnical reports.
• Carry out slope stability, retaining structure, embankment and foundation assessments.
• Support project management, client liaison and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical supervision when required.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• 2‑5 years of consultancy experience, preferably on rail or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK geotechnical design standards and ground investigation practices.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
