Health and Safety Assistant

About the role

Join a privately owned property investment company as a Health and Safety Assistant within the Facilities Management division. You will support the delivery of health and safety operations across a mixed‑use portfolio of commercial, residential and retail assets, helping to maintain a safe environment for occupants and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, covering fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos management and access control.
• Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, inspections, audits and permit‑to‑work documentation.
• Support the scheduling and documentation of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Provide administrative support for incident reporting, remedial action tracking and internal health and safety communications.
• Contribute to the monitoring of Building Management Systems (BMS) and deliver specialist guidance to the Facilities Management team.

Required profile

• Strong interest in health and safety with a proactive learning attitude.
• Experience managing health and safety within a facilities or property management environment.
• Basic understanding of H&S procedures, permit systems and maintenance workflows.
• Relevant qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely and/or NEBOSH is advantageous.
