Highways Schemes Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Schemes Supervisor to support the Construction Manager in delivering highway improvement projects across the UK. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day site activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project schedules and coordinate with contractors, clients and stakeholders to maintain agreed timelines.
• Maintain accurate daily site records, capturing photos, equipment usage and labour resources.
• Assist in resolving site and construction issues, communicating changes to Scheme Engineers, Designers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Conduct daily inspections of traffic management layouts and address any identified issues promptly.
• Provide leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the scheme lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong experience in highway engineering.
• Highly organised with the ability to coordinate multiple contractors simultaneously.
• Clear communicator capable of reporting to the Construction Manager and other stakeholders.
• Valid UK Driver’s Licence.
