Housekeeper (Cambridge)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain the high standards of student and guest accommodation across our college sites in Cambridge. You will work as part of a supportive team, ensuring rooms, communal areas and public spaces are clean, safe and welcoming.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and prepare student bedrooms, guest accommodation, bathrooms and communal areas to an exceptional standard.
• Make beds and ready rooms for arriving students, conference delegates and guests.
• Maintain offices, stairways, corridors and public spaces in line with cleaning schedules.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and monitor stock levels.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report maintenance issues, damages and health & safety concerns promptly.
• Carry out daily housekeeping duties according to college procedures and quality standards.
• Provide cover for colleagues during annual leave or sickness when required.
• Work across different college sites as needed.
• Attend training sessions and team meetings to support ongoing development.
• Ensure all duties comply with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and manual handling procedures.

Required profile

• Pride in work and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience (hotel, college or similar environment desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH and manual handling procedures.
