Interim Dairy Technical Manager

About the role

Cotteswold Dairy is looking for an experienced Interim Technical Manager to start immediately in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The post is fixed term for 4-6 months, 40 hours per week, reporting to the Operations Director, and covers food safety, quality and legal compliance while a new permanent Technical Manager is integrated into the role. The salary is around £350 per day.

Key responsibilities

• Lead food safety, quality assurance and technical/legal compliance across the site during the interim period.
• Lead preparation for and hosting of BRCGS, customer, accreditation and other relevant audits, including Halal requirements where applicable.
• Maintain HACCP and food-safety management systems.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Oversee laboratory operations.
• Coach, support and develop the permanent technical manager and the wider Technical/Laboratory team.

Required profile

• Significant technical/quality experience in food manufacturing/FMCG.
• Experience in a high-risk, chilled or comparable food environment.
• HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3.
• Previous management and leadership experience.
• A food-related degree/HND or equivalent.

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of BRCGS and personal experience of external audits.
• Internal/external auditing experience.
• Root-cause analysis, problem-solving, communication and influencing skills.
