Junior Project Engineer

About the role

CV Technical Ltd is seeking a motivated Junior Project Engineer to join its international engineering team. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will support the delivery of customer projects across the UK and Ireland, gaining exposure to all phases from sales support to installation and hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering engineering projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Support PLC‑based automation projects and related commissioning activities.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Pre‑Production Inspections (PPIs) and site commissioning.
• Prepare project documentation and customer hand‑over packs.
• Liaise with customers, OEM partners, suppliers and third‑party manufacturers.
• Provide technical support to the Sales Engineering team.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, meetings and project support, including occasional international trips to Japan.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or Automation Engineering.
• Graduate or up to 3 years of engineering experience.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland and internationally.
• Strong communication and customer‑facing abilities.

Required skills

• CAD (computer‑aided design) proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation.
• Experience with engineering drawings, FATs and commissioning processes.
