Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor

About the role

The independent school in Dover is seeking an experienced Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day operation, upkeep and development of its buildings and grounds. You will join the operational leadership team and ensure the site remains safe, compliant and of the highest standard for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Estates Team, coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Manage contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with health, safety and statutory requirements.
• Oversee health and safety procedures, including risk assessments, fire safety systems and security systems.
• Develop and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and budgets.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and oversee site security.
• Deliver maintenance projects on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Proven experience in building maintenance, health and safety compliance and contractor management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small facilities team in an educational or similar environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to providing a safe and inspiring environment for learners and staff.
